General Tryout Information

Vanguard Volleyball will be hosting a general summer tryout on Wednesday, July 15th. Players selected from the General Tryout will be offered a Vanguard Volleyball Club Membership Contract. Selection to one of the Vanguard teams in that age group/skill level will be determined through the Team Selection Process at the end of September/ beginning of October. A fall tryout will also take place in September.

Tryout Date: Wednesday, July 15th, 2026
Time: 6:00pm to 7:30pm - All Middle School, Freshmen, Sophomores

7:30pm to 9:00pm - Juniors & Seniors
Location: 5057 Freeway Dr E. Columbus, OH 43229

Cost: $20 (Accepted Payments: cash, check, credit card)

Must bring: Proof of age (drivers license, birth certificate, passport) and completed medical waiver (Link here: Medical Waiver). 

Players who possess a Vanguard Volleyball Club Membership Contract will compete in a four session, competitive Team Selection Process. This will take place in four separate two-hour sessions. Players will be evaluated on the court through a variety of drills and skills competitions, individually and in groups, in addition to a series of scrimmages. Upon completion of the four session assessment, players will be placed onto the appropriate team in their age group/skill level.

***The specific team your son makes will be determined based on their performance at Team Selection. We understand that not everyone can make all of the Team Selection dates. We have many kids in Fall sports, so we tried to select different dates and times to provide options for all to make.***
