Vanguard Volleyball will be hosting a general tryout on Sunday, September 8th. Players selected from the General Tryout will be offered a Vanguard Volleyball Club Membership Contract. Selection to one of the Vanguard teams in that age group/skill level will be determined through the Team Selection Process at the end of September/ beginning of October.
Tryout Date: Sunday, September 8th, 2024
Time: Wave 1 - 8:00am to 9:30am, Wave 2 - 10:00am to 11:30am
Wave 1: Seniors, Juniors and any Sophomore born BEFORE July 1st 2008
Wave 2: Any Sophomore born ON July 1st 2008 or after, Freshmen and all athletes 8th grade and younger
Location: Cornerstone Athletic Center - 535 Lakeview Plaza Blvd. Worthington, Ohio 43085
Cost: $20 (Accepted Payments: cash, check, credit card)
Must bring: Proof of age (drivers license, birth certificate, passport) and completed medical waiver (Link here: Medical Waiver). If you have participated in our Fall League this current season and turned in a medical waiver, you will not this again at tryouts.
If you already received a 2023/2024 Vanguard Volleyball Club Membership Contract before the September tryout date and accepted, you do not attend the Vanguard General Tryout. You are already a Vanguard Volleyball Club member and you will participate in the Vanguard Team Selection Process.
Players who possess a Vanguard Volleyball Club Membership Contract will compete in a four session competitive Team Selection Process. This will take place in four separate two-hour sessions. Players will be evaluated on the court through a variety of drills and skills competitions, individually and in groups, in addition to a series of scrimmages. Upon completion of the four session assessment, players will be placed onto the appropriate team in their age group/skill level.
***The specific team your son makes will be determined based on their performance at Team Selection. We understand that not everyone can make all of the Team Selection dates. We have many kids in Fall sports, so we tried to select different dates and times to provide options for all to make.***
